These wheels are ready to roll! Students will use LEGO® Bricks, axles, pulleys, gears, motors and more to build a variety of models on wheels. Some are familiar vehicles, such as a fire engine and delivery truck. Other amazing models, such as the Rescue Robot and K-9 Bot, will give students more to learn. Do you have a need for speed? Put your Speed Bot model to the test as you race against others using remote controls! We’ll explore concepts of speed and force, and gain non-vehicle knowledge from the unconventional Wheels in Motion models as well. Let’s roll!

Explore the performance art of acting with Virginia Rep! Learn how to sharpen your "Performers Tools" - Body, Voice and Imagination, while creating new original Fairy Tales for the informal performance on the last day. Two experienced instructors will engage the students in ensemble building improvisation games before dividing them into smaller groups for age-appropriate challenges and fun. During the course of this session the students will learn a variety of acting and story-telling techniques. On the last day parents will be invited in to see what these emerging young actors have created!

Mad Science will engage students with fun, interactive and educational hands-on activities that instill a clearer understanding of science and how it affects the world around them. Students let their minds absorb the awesomeness of science in this fun, hands on series. Learn about comets in space, capturing and harnessing energy all around us, cause a destructive earthquake, experience hair raising static electricity, catch a cloud with dry ice fog, learn about movie effects, circuits and Slime Olympics…did we mention SLIME? Students take home unique science projects each week.

Join us for a kickin’ good time as we introduce students to the basic blocks and kicks used in Taekwondo, while instilling the tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. Students will develop better focus and control as they practice different Taekwondo combinations in a fun and positive way. We’ll have a “smashing’ good time practicing speed and accuracy while breaking boards and will end the session with a demonstration of our moves for our parents. Students will also get to put their Jedi skills to the test as we battle the Dark Side and will get to train like their favorite Super Hero. Whether you’ve always wanted to try a martial art or just want to have fun, this class is for you!
